Funding for postgraduate teacher training

Funding for teacher training is available for eligible graduates who are starting their training in the 2017/18 academic year on postgraduate routes including the non-salaried School Direct programme either through scholarship or training bursaries.

Funding amounts will vary depending on the subject you intend to teach and your degree classification or highest relevant academic qualification. If you do not have a degree in the subject you wish to teach, free courses are available to increase your subject prior to teacher training. Click here for more information.

Scholarships of £25,000+ are available in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Computing for trainees who are starting their training in the 2017/18 academic year. These prestigious awards are aimed at high-quality graduates with a 2:1 or first-class degree, who are passionate about their subject and have the potential to be inspirational teachers.
