Apprenticeship routes coming soon
We are delighted to have been accredited as a provider to deliver Post Graduate Teaching Apprenticeship (PGTA). This gives new teachers in the Liverpool city region another choice in how they train to gain a PGCE and QTS.It will support colleagues who have gained experience in school as a TA or unqualified teacher to gain QTS and a PGCE without giving up a salary.
It also supports our partner schools in recruiting the best staff for their school and the apprenticeship levy can be used to support the cost of employing an apprentice teacher.
Head of SCITT, Alison Brady said “ we have had a number of enquiries on how we can support recruitment and retention for local schools and providing a PGTA was the natural choice.”
Any schools interested in offering employment for a post graduate teaching apprentice should contact us on 0151 832 4340 for further advice on funding available to support employing an apprentice.
Our apprenticeship route will include our SEND pathway, primary 3-7, primary 7-11 and all secondary subjects. Funding differs for subjects and phase so please get in touch for further details.
The course will begin in July to allow apprentices to build a solid foundation of skills ready tostart their teaching timetable in September. Apprentices will receive high quality coaching and mentoring throughout the programme and regular reviews alongside a comprehensive training package will ensure they are confident in the classroom and have a positive impact on learners.
