Meet the Practitioners

Ann Marie Dimeck

Ann Marie Dimeck

Primary Expert Practitioner

Ann Marie has considerable leadership experience in several schools, and 17 years as headteacher of a large school in the North of England. Under her leadership the school was designated a National Support School and Teaching School. This involved taking responsibility for ITT.

During this time she was appointed a National Leader of Education, which involved supporting schools causing concern and those requiring performance reviews.

Ann Marie has extensive experience in system leadership, school improvement and coaching for leadership development.

Ann Marie has been subject to enhanced DBS disclosures.

Lee Tynan

Business Studies Expert Practitioner

Lee teachers at Business & ICT at Formby High School and has worked there for seven years. He is an experienced mentor for ITT having worked with a variety of providers over the last five years.

Lee’s experience has led him to work for AQA delivering CPD on a national basis as well as being an examiner for the board. Lee also has extensive knowledge of other exam specifications as he examines  OCR Business International GCSE.

Robert Hodgson

Physical Education Expert Practitioner

Rob has been a Teacher of PE for 7 years with an interest in technology in the classroom.

Rob is currently Progress Manager of Year 11 as well as Professional mentor and NQT induction Tutor (it gets very busy!).

Rob is actively involved in action research across the Holy Rosary Teaching School Alliance leading’ lesson study’ within Deyes High.

Alison Brady

Alison Brady

Biology Expert Practitioner

Alison has been a Teacher of Science for 14 years with a passion for engagement for all. During her career Alison has held responsibility points for KS3 science, Curriculum development, More Able and Intervention Strategies. She has also supported staff development through coaching of AFL and the Malit outstanding Teaching Programme.

Alison is currently SCITT Manager leading the Recruitment, Professional Training and QA of teacher training.

Andrew Jones

Andrew Jones

IT & Computer Science Expert Practitioner

Andrew started teaching in 2001 when he joined Deyes High School as an NQT. In 2006 Andrew become coordinator for ICT KS4 vocational courses and in 2008 moved to vocational coordinator for both KS4 and KS5.

In 2014 Andrew went on to become “ICT/Computing Progress Manager with responsibility for KS5”.

Professionally within school Andrew has been a curriculum mentor for more than 5 years, teacher mentor for 3 years with Malit outstanding teacher training to help and support members of Deyes High Staff.

Tony Williams

Physics Expert Practitioner

Tony has been a Teacher of Science for 12 years. He is currently Assistant Curriculum Leader for Science, in charge of Physics and Sixth Form Standards Leader at Formby High School.

In addition, Tony delivers GCSE Astronomy to large groups of students as an extra-curricular activity each year.

Tony has particular interests in the Philosophy of Science and is actively involved in research into bridging the gender gap in Physics.

Sarah Owens

Mathematics Expert Practitioner

Sarah was appointed to this role for September 2017.

Sarah currently works at Formby High School and is an experienced and successful teacher of Mathematics for 11-19 yr olds.

Pete Blackburn

History Expert Practitioner

Pete is currently an established and successful History teacher in Deyes High School where History as a subject is held in high regard by fellow staff, governors and most importantly students.

As a department, it has been awarded The Good Schools Guide for best performance for boys taking history at an English Comprehensive School for Cambridge IGCSE 2016. Pete’s lessons are at their heart, engaging, creative and ensure rapid progress from each learner in order for them to achieve their full potential.

Pete has delivered INSET training across the school and worked across departments in the roll out of Teaching and Learning initiatives.

Paul Christopherson

Design Technology Expert Practitioner

Paul is a well experience teacher who has taught at Longridge High School, Preston and Ormskirk School, Lancashire.

Paul is currently Head of Department and was appointed as Expert Practitioner for September 2017.

Paul is well placed to support trainees and the changes to the Design Technology curriculum.

Catherine Perkins

Chemistry Expert Practitioner

Catherine started her teacher training at Deyes High School in September 2013, following a successful completion of her PHD in Chemistry.

Catherine secured a job at Deyes High School for her NQT year, during which she was promoted to Head of Chemistry in March 2015. In 2017, Catherine completed her NPQSL Qualification and now leads across Science.

Subject knowledge across the Science curriculum and specifically in Chemistry is exceptional. Catherine works closely with AQA to develop questions for A-level examinations.
